An ‘hotel within a hotel’, the Flagler Club is an ultra-luxurious boutique hotel with private access, hidden within the renowned resort The Breakers Palm Beach. As it stands today, it is the result of an extensive renovation carried out by Tihany Design, transforming it into an intimate oasis, a secreted gem within one of the most glamorous destinations on the East Coast. Best defined as the Palm Beach jet-set experience, The Breakers was founded in 1896 by magnate Henry M. Flagler. Since then, it has consistently attracted an elite clientele who return each year for its high-end services and bespoke hospitality. The renovation project of the Flagler Club, led by Tihany Design’s Principal Alessia Genova, follows this same line, where the spirit of a luxurious lifestyle permeates everything.

The new Flagler Club is a design projection of a high-end, yachting lifestyle. It merges two specific languages: the classic style of Palm Beach and the Dolce Vita of the European Riviera, between France and Italy. Two epicenters separated by ocean waters, united by a shared vision of beauty and joie de vivre. For the cosmopolitan traveler, leisure and rest are essential, and the Flagler Club is the ideal place to spend them in tranquility.

In terms of design, this intermingling of Mediterranean essences and high-class American standards translates into exclusive yet welcoming interiors, refined and relaxed, chic and supremely comfortable. Among the inspirations, we can cite the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, an iconic retreat, an intellectual expression of the French Riviera lifestyle, and the vacation resort architecture designed by Henry Flagler.

Amidst precious horizons, ocean views, and unparalleled customization, the Flagler Club is the perfect global boutique hotel. Its aesthetics and color scheme evoke an international class journey across the seas, aboard a luxurious yacht, or a charming interlude of life among white beaches and lush palm trees. The materials and furnishings respond to the imagery of a bespoke residence. Overall, the atmosphere is that of a home on Florida’s Gold Coast, with the added plus of an unparalleled range of services.

The twenty-one rooms and suites share a splendid view of the horizon, either over the ocean or the island facing the structure, but they are distinguished by furnishings, decorations, and palettes unique compared to other areas of The Breakers. The customization work focused on three particular elements: the carpet, intended as a sumptuous base for the project, the vanity unit, and the screens, where each decorative panel is to be regarded as a standalone art piece. Noteworthy are also the embroidered wall coverings adorning the headboard wall and the trompe l’oeil style vertical molding. The yachting influence is evident in the curved wood furniture, from dressers to desks, to the hidden mini-fridge and wardrobes with typically Italian lines. The vibrant azure and coral tones radiated by Palm Beach are reflected in the palette selected by Tihany Design, emanating a light and airy lifestyle, in full Gold Coast style.
