From the outset, the client sought more than aesthetic appeal – they desired a refuge. A home that whispered serenity through soft, hushed tones and an ambience that suggested quiet luxury rather than overt opulence. Every detail, from the foundational palette to the final accents, was orchestrated to serve this vision of elevated tranquillity.

What unfolds is a space where textures play a leading role. The layering of tactile elements – plush textiles, natural stone, sculptural surfaces – creates a rich yet composed atmosphere. Each room flows effortlessly into the next, offering spaces equally suited for unwinding alone or hosting with ease.

In the dining area, the statement Wedge Dining Table takes centre stage, encircled by eight Lawson chairs by Minotti, a pairing that feels both grounded and refined. This sense of thoughtful balance continues into the living area, anchored by Minotti’s Hamilton Composed Sofa – an elegant frame for relaxed gatherings. Complementary pieces from Roche Bobois, including the Kasuka stools and the Rondo Casegoods sideboard, bring in European flair, while the JB Swivel Chairs in grey mohair from Bright Chair (via Thomas Lavin) add a sculptural softness. Meanwhile, the study features the sculptural Dune Chairs by Elisa Carlucci for Quintus Home – at once minimalist and expressive.

A key architectural intervention came in the form of a new fireplace wall, introduced to give dimension and focus to the living room. The ethanol flame casts a gentle glow, enhancing the natural rhythm of the space. At the heart of this feature is the use of Dekton Ukiyo by Cosentino in the Nacre finish – an elegant, fluted surface that merges artistry with durability. Its quiet drama is elevated further by the Sensa Taj Mahal quartzite, forming a tonal conversation between structure and subtlety.

Texture is explored further through the inclusion of bespoke rugs from the Claudia Afshar x Mehraban collection. The Sands rug in the dining room and the Formations rug in the living area serve as soft foundations, reinforcing the designer’s nuanced approach to layering. Each piece contributes to a narrative of material richness and slow luxury, where craftsmanship takes precedence over trends.

Beyond the main gathering spaces, the design carries through into more intimate zones. The principal bedroom exudes softness and stillness, anchored by a custom headboard tailored to echo the home’s overarching palette. In the office and library, custom cabinetry and millwork add architectural gravitas, balancing beauty with utility.

Ultimately, this project is a reflection of a design philosophy grounded in timelessness. It exemplifies the studio’s belief that homes should not only be visually compelling but deeply personal – crafted to resonate with the lifestyle, rhythm, and emotional needs of those who live within them. Here, form follows feeling, and elegance lives in the details.
