INTERIOR & DÉCOR, but with a twist

Take a deep breath!

Our wellbeing – or lack of it – is also the result of the air we breathe. This has become even more perceptible in recent years, not only because of the pandemic, but also because of air pollution (which represents one of the main environmental risks for health in Europe) and low indoor air quality, namely lack of circulation in closed settings, where the air can even be five times more polluted than the atmosphere outside. Starting from this snapshot of reality, Check Up, a Treviso-based company that has been a leader for 30 years in the sector of electronics applied to design and health care, has developed a new line of sustainable technological solutions for the sanitizing of spaces and surfaces. These are the Puricraft devices, which stand out from the traditional entries on the market thanks to their ability to eliminate (and not simply trap) pathogens. The offerings are multiple, all highly innovative and all Made in Italy.

Starting with the UVCPRO purifier: a bar that processes air in a room with UV-C light, eliminating 99.8% of viruses, bacteria and pollutants, including strains that resist the effects of antibiotics. The technology can be activated when people are in the space, and it requires no filters, making it more ecological and safe. Or the B-ION BOOST models, with their smart, decorative appeal: portable devices that function with batteries (lithium-free), powered with a simple USB port for 24 hours of operation on one charge. By releasing 5 million ions per cubic centimeter, they weigh down particles that descend to the ground, preventing inhalation of fine dust.

The story of Puricraft is inseparable from that of its inventor, Michele Carlet, also the founder and CEO of Check Up, who for years has devoted time and resources to the study of the problem of bacteria resistant to antibiotics. A career that has led to exceptional results today, through new devices whose efficacy is proven by scientific testing conducted by the departments of microbiology and virology of the Università di Napoli Federico II. The products’ virtues go hand in hand with design refinement, transforming devices that improve health into décor complements that take part in all kinds of interior design contexts.
