A collaboration between Natural Science & Biodiversity Specialist Angus Cunningham from Scotscape and AssiaX

AssiaX – a non-profit initiative promoted by experienced interior architect and product designer Annabella Nassetti and digital technologist and global communications expert Fiorenza Mella – has announced the relaunch of “Queen Bee Contest”. The revised format involves the addition to the original project, first introduced in the course of an online event by the İstanbul Kültür University Faculty of Architecture, of a new topical issue, namely biodiversity.

Urban biodiversity, that is the variety of plant and animal life of the city habitat, is under threat and this project aims precisely to encourage the A&D world to be part of the solution. Among the key figures that inspired the contest there is Angus Cunningham, a master in biodiversity, the Founder of the London-based innovation-led Company Scotscape and the inventor of avant-garde greening solutions, such as the solar powered lamps Living Pillars.

"The Queen Bee Biodiversity Contest was initially inspired by the need to raise awareness but it did evolve into a broader project thanks to our partnership with Angus Cunningham, a visionary green entrepreneur” Isabella Nassetti stated.

The contest is addressed to young female designers and architects who wish to contribute to a more sustainable and healthy urban environment and ask them to create a biodiversity-driven solution for London’s lampposts in order to increase pollination, thus lowering carbon levels. As the focus of this first edition is London, the city will welcome the winning project.
